MEL-One Waystation was the most important location in the colonization of Sol System for fifty years. Parked at the Moon-Earth L1 (MEL1) libration point, it served as the first pit-stop along humanity's highway into space.
Cheap energy rendered it irrelevant. In spite of new development around MEL1, "Old Melone" Waystation spent over 900 years alternating between "ghost town"[1] and "historical landmark" until UNS budget cuts opened the door to a free-enterprise solution: Mall-One.
Mall-One holds the distinction of being one of the largest open-plan centrifugal-gravity stations in the galaxy, and as such is highly prized by Parkata Urbatsu runners and other aerobatics enthusiasts.
